There’s a reason why this beloved event has been running for more than 30 years—read on to learn about the holiday fun you can expect at the 2018 Sights and Sounds of Christmas!
What Is Sights and Sounds of Christmas?
Located along the banks of the San Marcos River, think of this San Marcos Christmas event as a giant holiday-themed carnival for the whole family. You’ll find all the usual things: food, entertainment, arts and crafts, and games. The event overflows with vibrant Christmas lights and Santa Claus also attends to hear the children’s wishes.
Atypical of a carnival, you can glide around the skating rink and roam the recreated town of Bethlehem. Lots of music and entertainment will keep you smiling. Kids can see the animals at the petting zoo and hop on the small carnival rides.
For walkers and runners, the event has a 5K and 1K Fun Run to pump up your energy and build up an appetite for all the delicious noshes.
Many of the vendors are local groups like Boy Scouts who run the funnel cake booth. It’s an opportunity to support your favorite San Marcos organizations.
One cool thing about the San Marcos Christmas event is it uses wristbands, aka Magic Money. No carrying tokens! Just automagically use the wristbands to pay up at the booth.
